Launched earlier this year as a milestone in the history of the Audi Sport performance division, the new Audi RS5 has far exceeded the expectations of the Ingolstadt manufacturer. The switch to a high-performance plug-in hybrid drive system generated a huge wave of enthusiasm among sports car enthusiasts, transforming the model into a commercial success in the European market.
The German brand has confirmed that the interest in the new generation RS5 has exceeded all internal forecasts. The volume of orders registered in Europe is currently almost twice the level initially anticipated by the sales division.
As a result of this massive success, the entire production for 2026 has been sold out. Buyers placing an order for the new high-performance model during this period should take into account that delivery times are being extended, with the first units not reaching customers until next year.
The success in the European market is just the first step in the manufacturer's global strategy. Audi is preparing to expand the sale of the new RS5 into new, strategically important international markets, including Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan.
For the Asian rounds of the international sporting calendar – marked by the Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix – Audi has prepared a spectacular presentation. The team’s cars have received special graphics, and the same visual theme has also been applied to an exclusive Audi RS5. This unique configuration highlights the exterior color Titanium Gray, a design option created especially for the event, which unfortunately will not be available in the general public.
The new Audi RS5 marks a new era for the brand's sports car range, combining a classic combustion engine with advanced electrified technology:
● Plug-in hybrid drive system: A combination of a 2.9-liter V6 biturbo engine and a powerful electric motor.
● Total output: The system delivers a combined output of 639 hp (470 kW) and a huge maximum torque of 825 Nm.
● Dynamics and acceleration: The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in just 3.6 seconds, while the top speed can climb to 280 km/h (in configuration with Audi Sport performance packages).
● Electric range: In addition to its radical behavior on the track, the car also offers a purely electric range of more than 80 kilometers in the WLTP cycle, ideal for everyday urban use.
On the Romanian market, the new Audi RS5 is awaited with great interest by collectors and enthusiasts of the high-performance segment.
● Orders and deliveries: Given the exhaustion of production stocks for the current year at European level, future local customers who want a copy will be enrolled in the waiting lists for allocations related to next year.
● Equipment and configurations: The model is available both in the version with a dynamic sedan silhouette (Sportback/Sedan) and in the practical Avant body variant (station wagon). Standard equipment includes quattro all-wheel drive with dynamic torque vectoring, adaptive RS sports suspension, 20 or 21-inch light alloy wheels and an aggressive aerodynamic package.
● Estimated prices: Positioned at the top of Audi's sports hierarchy, the new RS5 has a starting price that is around the 100,000 - 110,000 euro threshold in Western European markets, with the final cost easily exceeding 130,000 - 140,000 euro if you opt for top-of-the-line optional equipment (carbon-ceramic braking system, carbon fiber exterior design packages and contoured sports seats).
