These are the car brands that make the most reliable cars

We all have preconceived ideas about which car brands build the most reliable cars and in this article the Alfa Rent a Car Airport Cluj Napoca company will show you how correct these preconceptions are because we will rank each car manufacturer according to reliability based on real information from used car warranty providers. This information includes the type of defects that occurred, their severity, the time required to repair or replace the defective components, and the cost of the repair (components + labor). Based on this information each car manufacturer was given a percentage reliability score. A total of 500 thousand cars were included in this study and their average age was ten years old. Of course, all these cars have expired warranty from the car manufacturer, which is why their owners turned to companies that offer warranty on used cars. Only car brands that had at least 500 cars on their pre-owned warranty lists were included to ensure a large enough sample for fairness.

In 15th place is the Swedish car manufacturer Volvo, which achieved a reliability score of 62% out of 100. In this study, 3,500 Volvo models such as the C30, XC90 or V40 were evaluated. When a Volvo breaks down, the average repair cost is 900 euros. When a detailed comparison is made of details such as the length of time required to repair and the age of the car at which the defect occurs, the Volvo brand does a better job than Opel, VW and Seat.

In 14th place is the Czech car manufacturer Skoda with a reliability score of 64% out of 100. More than 4000 Skoda models were evaluated in this study, some of which are Octavia, Superb, Fabia or Citigo. Of course, these are only older models whose manufacturer's warranty has expired. On average, when a Skoda car broke down, it cost around 700 euros to fix the problem.

Unfortunately for some, in 13th place we meet the French car manufacturer Peugeot. In this study, models from the previous generations of Peugeot 308, 208 and 3008 were evaluated and in total almost 9000 cars were included. When a Peugeot broke down, it cost an average of €650 to repair the fault and thus the Peugeot brand received a reliability score of 64% out of 100.

And Japanese brand Nissan gets a reliability score of 64% out of 100 but is ranked 12th ahead of fellow brands Peugeot and Skoda who got the same score because it scored higher on repair time and vehicle age when the failure occurred. More than 9,000 models such as previous generations of the Nissan Juke, Qashqai or X-Trail were evaluated in this study. When a Nissan broke down, the repair price was on average €840.

On the 11th place is another Japanese brand and it is called Mazda. In this study, 2,500 cars such as previous models Mazda CX-5, Mazda 3 or Mazda MX-5 Miata were evaluated. When these cars break down, the average repair price rises to 900 euros and finally Mazda scored 67% out of a hundred on the brand's reliability score.

In 10th place with a reliability score of 67% out of 100 is the French car manufacturer Renault. In this study, a number of 6000 Renault cars such as the previous generations of Scenic, Clio, Captur and Megane models were evaluated. Average repair costs amounted to €640 when a Renault broke down.

The American car manufacturer Ford ranks 9th in the ranking of Alfa Rent a Car Cluj Airport Avram Iancu office and had the most cars evaluated in this study. Thus, a total number of 26 thousand cars from the Ford brand were evaluated, cars such as Mondeo and previous generations of Focus and Fiesta models. When one of these cars breaks down, the average repair cost is 690 euros. The Ford receives a reliability score of 67% out of 100, the same as the Renault and Mazda, but they were ranked accordingly in terms of time to repair and the age of the car's failure. These particularities are used to be able to rank car brands in order when they get the same reliability score and Ford does better than Renault and Mazda in these chapters.

In 8th place is the South Korean car manufacturer Kia with a reliability score of 69% out of 100. More than 2000 Kia cars were included in this study which includes previous generations of Sportage, Sorento and Ceed models. The good part about the Kia brand is given by the fact that it does not cost much to repair them, on average it is about 600 euros.

The Japanese brand Suzuki takes the 7th place on our list because it got a reliability score of 71% out of 100. Almost 20 thousand Suzuki cars were evaluated in this study which includes the previous generations of Vitara, Jimny and Swift models. The average cost for repairing defects that appear in these models amounts to 590 euros.

In 6th place with the same reliability score of 71% out of 100 is the Italian car manufacturer Fiat. In this study, 6000 cars from the Fiat brand were included, such as the Panda, 500 and Punto models, which is a discontinued model. When these machines broke down, the average cost to repair these defects amounted to 580 euros.

On the 5th place is the Hyundai brand from South Korea. In this study, 2500 Hyundai cars such as the previous models i30, Tucson and Santa Fe were evaluated. Repairing defects in these cars cost an average of 650 euros and Hyundai received a reliability score of 71% out of 100.

The Smart brand is in 4th place with a reliability score of 73% out of 100. In this study not a very large number were evaluated, it is only 600 cars which include the previous generations of the Smart Fortwo and Forfour models but when s -they broke down, the repair was relatively cheap because on average the repair of the breakdowns cost 520 euros.

At this moment we enter the podium of the most reliable car brands and on the 3rd step is the Japanese car manufacturer Toyota with a reliability score of 80% out of 100. In this study, a number of 5000 Toyota cars were evaluated as the previous generations of the models RAV4, Prius and Auris. The average cost for repairing defects in these cars, which rarely happens, amounts to 680 euros.

Step 2 of the podium is occupied by Lexus which is the luxury car division of the Japanese car manufacturer Toyota. In this study, only 560 Lexus cars such as the previous generations of the RX, LS and ES models were evaluated and their repair was quite expensive. The average cost for repairing defects in these cars amounts to 1250 euros. But since these cars rarely break down, the Lexus brand gets a reliability score of 87% out of 100.

The most reliable car brand in the world is the Japanese manufacturer Honda and it occupies the first place on the podium of the car rental agency Alfa Rent a Car Airport Cluj Napoca with a reliability score of 88% out of 100. In this study, a number of 4500 were evaluated of Honda cars such as previous generations of Civic, CR-V and Jazz models.
