Mladá Boleslav / Pamplona – The Czech car manufacturer has today officially started production of the newest and most affordable electric SUV in its portfolio: the Skoda Epiq. This model promises to accelerate the adoption of zero-emission mobility by offering a competitive combination of price, range and generous space – defining elements of the brand’s philosophy.
The new urban crossover brings to the forefront the brand's freshest design language, called "Modern Solid", and is built on the MEB+ technical architecture, developed by the Volkswagen Group specifically for front-wheel drive models.
The Skoda Epiq is available in three engine versions, tailored to different budgets and driving preferences. Customers can choose from engines that develop 115, 134 or 211 horsepower.
For energy storage, the manufacturer offers two battery options:
In terms of charging technology, the new model supports DC fast charging (recharging from 10% to 80% in approximately 24 minutes) and benefits from V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) bidirectional charging technology on higher trim levels, transforming the car into a massive source of electricity for other devices.
Although designed in the Czech Republic, the new electric SUV is assembled in Spain at the Volkswagen plant in Pamplona. This strategic decision underlines the deep synergy within the German concern.
Note: The Pamplona plant is renowned for its high efficiency, being the place where two other extremely popular models of the German brand are currently produced, both with internal combustion: the Volkswagen T-Cross and Volkswagen Taigo crossovers.
With a length of approximately 4.1 meters, the Skoda Epiq manages to surprise with its practicality. Despite the exterior dimensions specific to the small class, the cabin offers a huge trunk for its segment, with a capacity of 475 liters (which can be expanded to 1,345 liters by folding the seats).
The new Skoda Epiq can already be ordered on the Romanian market, instantly becoming a formidable competitor in the budget electric vehicle segment in Eastern Europe.
In our country, the new model has a starting price of 26,438 euros with VAT included (list price, without applying any government eco-bonuses through the Rabla Plus program).
