The range of 100% electric vehicles from Munich is taking a new decisive step towards the future on the Romanian market. Shortly after the official unveiling in October this year, the new BMW iX4 – the coupe-style version of the iX3 and the latest member of the revolutionary Neue Klasse architecture – officially opens its order lists for customers in our country. The new model combines the next-generation efficiency of the Bavarian propulsion systems with a sporty aesthetic marked by flowing lines and unmistakable dynamism.

A new benchmark in the Neue Klasse era: Commercial debut on the Romanian market

Built on the Neue Klasse electric vehicle platform, the new BMW iX4 takes over from previous generations with combustion engines, transforming into a high-performance, purely electric SUV coupe.

For fans of the brand in Romania, the moment marks an important premiere in the upper middle class segment, the car being available in the launch phase in two electric engine versions with all-wheel drive, with subsequent variants to complete the portfolio during the development of the range.

Exterior design and interior universe: The meeting of sportiness and digital minimalism

Aesthetically, the new iX4 adopts a clean yet highly expressive design philosophy, specific to the new Neue Klasse family.

    ● Exterior silhouette: The roofline plunges elegantly towards the rear, offering athletic SUV coupé proportions that emphasize the dynamic character. Slim optical units, front grilles reinterpreted as integrated digital elements and clean surfaces define a strong presence on the road.
    ● Interior innovations: The interior is dominated by advanced concepts for human-machine interaction. The centerpiece is the revolutionary BMW Panoramic Vision, which projects essential information across the entire width of the windshield base, partially eliminating the classic instrument cluster and providing impeccable visibility. Sustainable materials, generous space optimized by the dedicated BEV platform and sophisticated ambient lighting create a high-tech lounge atmosphere.

Top performance and extended range: X-ray of the 40 xDrive and 50 xDrive versions

For now, customers in Romania can order two power variants, both equipped with the xDrive all-wheel drive system via electric motors located on both axles:

    1. BMW iX4 40 xDrive: This entry-level version develops a maximum output of 374 hp (275 kW) and generous torque, powered by a battery pack with a capacity of 82.6 kWh. The maximum autonomy in the WLTP cycle reaches up to 638 kilometers, and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in just 5.6 seconds, with a top speed limited to 200 km/h.

    2. BMW iX4 50 xDrive: The current top of the range local order ups the ante to 469 hp (345 kW) and uses a larger 108.7 kWh battery. This configuration allows for a remarkable range of up to 828 kilometers (depending on equipment and driving style), while the 0-100 km/h time drops to 4.9 seconds and the top speed increases to 210 km/h.

Prices in Romania, standard equipment and positioning against the competition

The commercial policy for the Romanian market positions the new iX4 in an extremely competitive area of the premium electric segment.

    ● Starting price: The most affordable model in the range, the BMW iX4 40 xDrive, starts in Romania at 69,152 euros including VAT (equivalent to 57,150 euros excluding VAT). The top version, the iX4 50 xDrive, has a list price starting at 74,597 euros including VAT.
    ● Generous standard equipment: The basic equipment for the Romanian market includes attractive elements such as 20-inch alloy wheels, the M Sport exterior and interior package, heated front seats, a sports steering wheel, a complex ambient lighting system, the innovative BMW Panoramic Vision system and the Driving Assistant Plus driving assistance package.
    ● Positioning and rivals: On the local market, the new iX4 enters into direct competition with established models in the luxury electric coupe SUV segment. One of the main direct rivals is the Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron (in the Advanced, quattro, 428 HP version and 641 km range), whose list price on the Romanian market starts at 74,848 euros including VAT, making the Bavarian proposal an extremely attractive alternative in terms of price-performance-range ratio.
