Premiere in Romania: The new Audi RS5 2027, the first plug-in hybrid in the division's history, arrived in the country ahead of its European debut

Fans of high-performance cars in Romania are in for a big surprise. The new generation Audi RS5 was exhibited in a national preview, two weeks before the model makes its official debut in the rest of European markets.

Beyond the aggressive aesthetic lines and cutting-edge technology, this model marks a turning point for the Ingolstadt manufacturer: it is the first electrified RS5 in history.

Price for Romania and market availability

For local enthusiasts who want to secure a copy of the new Audi Sport era, orders can already be placed. In Romania, the new Audi RS5 has a starting price of 111,769 euros, including VAT.

The fact that the car can already be admired in the country represents an important strategic move for the official importer, offering the public absolute exclusivity before European showrooms receive the first units.

"The presence of the new Audi RS5 at Porsche Inter Auto Romania represents an unmissable opportunity for the Romanian public. The model is not yet available on the market and is not yet present in showrooms, the European commercial launch being scheduled for week 26 of this year", says Alin Tapalaga, General Manager of Porsche Inter Auto Romania.

The Hybrid Revolution: Supercar Performance Under the Hood

Officially presented in mid-February, the new generation RS 5 abandons the purely thermal recipe in favor of a state-of-the-art Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) propulsion system. The change brings impressive figures, capable of rivaling those of higher segments:

  • Total power: 639 horsepower.
  • Acceleration (0-100 km/h): 3.6 seconds.
  • Battery capacity: 25.9 kWh.
  • Pure electric range (urban): Up to 87 kilometers.

While electrification brings a massive boost of power and devastating instant torque, it also comes with a trade-off in terms of overall weight. The new RS 5 weighs in at over 2.3 tonnes, but Audi Sport engineers have compensated for this with a highly technical chassis and the famous quattro all-wheel drive, recalibrated to handle the huge flow of energy.

A new era for design and dynamics

Visually, the new Audi RS5 immediately betrays its racing genes. The front is dominated by a Singleframe grille that is considerably wider and flatter than the previous generation, flanked by massive air intakes and optical blocks with state-of-the-art Matrix LED technology. The flared wings house large rims, emphasizing the extremely wide and aggressive stance of the car.

Inside, the cabin is a fusion of digital luxury and pure sportiness:

  • Audi Virtual Cockpit: The display behind the steering wheel features RS-specific graphics, providing details about the temperature of the hybrid components, G-forces and lap times.
  • Premium materials: The RS sports seats with integrated headrests are upholstered in Nappa leather and microfiber, providing optimal lateral support when cornering at speed.
  • Sustainability: In line with the hybrid drivetrain, some of the materials used in the interior come from recycled sources, without compromising the brand's premium quality.

With this new generation, Audi demonstrates that electrification does not mean diluting the sporty spirit, but on the contrary – using plug-in hybrid technology to reach new heights of performance, while offering the flexibility of daily zero-emission driving in the city.
