The Romanian auto market receives important news: the most affordable version of the benchmark electric sedan, the Tesla Model 3 Standard, is now available for order, with an extremely competitive starting price of 36,990 euros.
This launch marks a new step for the American company towards the mass segment, following the similar introduction of the Model Y Standard version, already available for two months. Tesla's strategy of launching basic, less equipped but much more affordable versions comes against the backdrop of intensifying competition in the European market, especially from Chinese manufacturers.
The Model 3 Standard, despite being the entry-level version, maintains an attractive balance between performance and efficiency. According to official data:
These parameters confirm that the Model 3 Standard does not compromise on the essence of the Tesla experience: speed, efficiency, and an autonomy that easily exceeds daily needs.
To reach the price of 36,990 euros, Tesla optimized the equipment, focusing on the most important features.
Even in the Standard version, the car receives elements of advanced technology and comfort. Among them are front video cameras and adaptive headlights, which improve safety and visibility. Comfort is ensured by heated front seats, which, in this version, are upholstered in fabric. The model also includes two wireless phone chargers and an electrically operated tailgate (hands-free), a practical feature for accessing the trunk.
Moreover, the essence of the Tesla experience is guaranteed by the standard inclusion of the Autopilot driver assistance system. This "essential" equipment makes the Model 3 an attractive option for those buyers who want to benefit from the technology, the fast charging network (Supercharger) and the tax advantages of an electric car, without paying the price of the top versions.
Although the price of €36,990 is extremely attractive in itself, Romanian customers can also benefit from state support. Through the Rabla Plus program, which offers the eco-ticket for electric vehicles, the final purchase price could be significantly reduced (depending on the amount of the subsidy in force at the time of delivery), reaching an extremely competitive level on the new car market, including those with a thermal engine.
According to information on the Tesla website, deliveries of the first Model 3 Standard units are expected to begin in February 2026. This period indicates high demand and a production optimization strategy to satisfy the European market.
The launch of the Model 3 Standard in Romania at this price represents a turning point, forcing other manufacturers to reevaluate their pricing strategy for electric models and most likely accelerating the adoption of "zero emission" vehicles in our country.
