At this year's Bucharest Auto Show (BASS), Subaru marked a crucial milestone in its electrification strategy on the local market by presenting its 100% electric range. The undisputed star of the Japanese stand is the new Subaru E-Outback, the model designed to take over from the legendary Outback adventure crossover and bring it into the era of zero-emission mobility.
The new Subaru E-Outback retains the unmistakable DNA of an off-road vehicle, combining the proportions of a mid-size crossover with modern aerodynamic lines.
● Visual features: The front is characterized by a simplified grille, specific to electric vehicles, framed by LED optical blocks with a sharp light signature. Hard plastic protections at the wheel arches and sills emphasize the utilitarian character.
● Ground clearance and wheels: Depending on the equipment level chosen, the E-Outback comes standard with 18-inch alloy wheels (on the entry-level version) or massive 20-inch wheels on the top version.
Inside, the E-Outback offers a welcoming atmosphere, focused on ergonomics and long-distance comfort, while maintaining a high level of material durability.
The cabin's control center is dominated by a generous 14-inch central touchscreen, through which the infotainment system, navigation and vehicle functions are managed.
The comfort features included are extremely rich, even in the basic version:
1. Thermal management: Heated front and rear seats, along with a heated steering wheel provided as standard.
2. Driving position: 10-way electrically adjustable driver's seat (with memory function on the top trim).
3. Premium comfort: The top trim adds ventilated front seats and a panoramic glass roof that increases the brightness inside.
4. V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) function: Available on the top trim, allowing external consumers (camping equipment, power tools) to be powered directly from the car's battery.
From a technical point of view, the Subaru E-Outback benefits from a configuration with two electric motors — one located on each axle —, ensuring a symmetrical all-wheel drive system adapted for the electric era.
● Maximum power: 381 hp
● Acceleration 0–100 km/h: Just 4.5 seconds
● Battery capacity: 74.7 kWh
● Fast charging (DC): Maximum charging power up to 150 kW
● Range (WLTP): Up to 523 kilometers for the version with 18-inch wheels (4E-xperience) and 477 kilometers for the version with 20-inch wheels (4E-xperience+).
● Combined consumption: 15.4 kWh/100 km (4E-xperience version).
On the Romanian market, the new Subaru E-Outback is structured in two equipment lines, both benefiting from substantial launch discounts on the occasion of its debut at SAB:
1. Subaru E-Outback 4E-xperience:
● List price: 53,900 euros (including VAT)
● Promotional launch price: 46,900 euros (including VAT)
2. Subaru E-Outback 4E-xperience+:

In terms of price/performance ratio and 381 HP all-wheel drive system, the E-Outback is positioned extremely competitively in the mid-size electric SUV segment.
