Skoda financial and commercial results in H1 2026. Global sales up 9.1% and records in the electric segment

Czech car manufacturer Škoda reports an exceptional first half of 2026, recording growth in almost all areas and strengthening its position as a key player in Europe and globally. With record results in the electric vehicle segment and solid demand for its established models, Škoda maintains its expansion momentum in a rapidly changing automotive industry.

Global sales on the rise: Half a million milestone successfully surpassed

In the period January – June 2026, Škoda delivered 555,700 cars worldwide. This figure represents an increase of 9.1% compared to the first six months of 2025, confirming the attractiveness of the current portfolio among buyers.

The performance lifted the Mladá Boleslav brand to second place in the top of the best-selling car brands in Europe, a historic achievement for the Czech manufacturer.

Green Offensive: Electric Car Sales Exploded

The most spectacular chapter in the financial and commercial report for the first half of 2026 belongs to low- and zero-emission vehicles. Škoda has set an absolute record in the 100% electric car market:

108,200 electric cars sold in the first six months.
48.3% increase in sales of electric models compared to the same period in 2025.
27.7% of total sales (over 1 in 4 cars delivered) were represented by pure electric models or plug-in hybrids (PHEV).

The electric range has enjoyed accelerated success due to the expansion of the offer of zero-emission SUVs and crossovers, attracting a growing segment of customers.

Top of the best-selling models worldwide

Although the electric offensive is grabbing all the spotlight, traditional combustion and hybrid models continue to be the brand's mainstays. The Škoda Octavia remains the brand's most popular model, closely followed by the SUVs in the range:

       1. Škoda Octavia – 96,500 units
       2. Škoda Kodiaq – 74,600 units
       3. Škoda Kamiq – 65,400 units

Škoda on the Romanian market : Firm podium and solid figures

On the Romanian car market, Škoda reconfirms its status as a favorite brand among drivers and company fleets. In the first half of 2026, the Czech brand ranked 3rd in the top of the best-selling new car brands, being surpassed only by the national leader Dacia and Toyota, but ahead of other traditional competitors in the market.

Local market highlights:

  • Octavia, the leader in its segment: The Octavia model continues to be among the most registered cars in Romania, constantly ranking first in the ranking of imported models.
  • Increased appetite for mild-hybrid and electrified: In line with the national trend, mild-hybrid versions of the Octavia and Škoda hybrid SUVs have recorded excellent sales figures on the Romanian market.

"The results of the first half of the year show that our electrification strategy, combined with the modernization of our core models, is paying off. The excellent performance in Europe and in key markets such as Romania proves that customers appreciate the excellent price-performance ratio and our technologies." — Škoda Auto representatives

What's next in the second half of the year?

With a high order flow and the continuous expansion of the electrified portfolio, Škoda is looking to the second half of 2026 with justified optimism. If the current pace is maintained, 2026 has every chance of becoming one of the most profitable and successful years in the entire history of the manufacturer from Mladá Boleslav.
