The new flagship of the Mladá Boleslav-based manufacturer, the Škoda Peaq electric 7-seater SUV, has set an official distance record for its category. In a consumption test conducted at the end of August, the vehicle covered 936 kilometers without stopping at a charging station, exceeding its official WLTP range of 647 km by almost 45%.
Officially launched this summer, the Škoda Peaq represents the top of the electrification range for the Czech brand. Traditionally constrained by the less favorable aerodynamic shape and high kerb weight of vehicles in the large SUV segment, the range of seven-seat family models has often been a sore point.
The record demonstrates the technological leap that electric vehicle platforms are making. Without any technical changes to the production car, Peaq proved that software optimization, advanced battery thermal management and meticulously crafted aerodynamics can transform a generous SUV into a long-distance marathon runner.
The journey began on August 25th from the Škoda plant in Mladá Boleslav (Czech Republic), with the final destination being the circuit and coastal resort of Zandvoort in the Netherlands. The route crossed Germany on national roads and motorway sections, including legal rest breaks, driver changes and lunch stops — all without the car being connected to a power source.
The people behind the project were at the wheel:

The entire experiment was independently monitored and certified by representatives of the German technical inspection organization TÜV SÜD, who sealed the loading port before departure and validated the telemetry data upon arrival.
The balance of record figures:
● Total distance traveled: 936 kilometers;
● Average final consumption: 9.2 kWh / 100 km;
● WLTP autonomy exceeded (647 km): +44.6%;
● Aerodynamic coefficient ($C_d$): 0.249.
The performance was achieved with a Škoda Peaq 90 version, equipped with a single electric motor located on the rear axle, developing 286 hp (210 kW). It uses a battery pack with a usable capacity of 86 kWh (91 kWh gross capacity).
For this test, the car used standard 19-inch wheels equipped with stock low-rolling resistance tires, without experimental friction-reducing solutions.

The engineering team emphasized that the test was intended to demonstrate the maximum efficiency of the propulsion system and battery under conditions of anticipatory driving and strict route optimization.

Brand officials admit that the consumption of 9.2 kWh/100 km does not reflect the daily use of a typical customer, but it confirms the massive efficiency reserve of the platform. In normal mixed traffic conditions (with air conditioning on and highway speeds), the real autonomy will be comfortably in the range of 500–600 kilometers.
The Škoda Peaq is ready for its commercial debut on the Romanian market, with the first deliveries to customers scheduled for the end of this year and the beginning of next year.
The range offered to customers in Romania includes three main propulsion variants: Peaq 60, Peaq 90 and the all-wheel drive performance version Peaq 90x.

Through the Rabla Plus Program, buyers can benefit from the government eco-bonuses in force, reducing the purchase price by the lei equivalent of the eco-bonus offered for 100% electric vehicles. With its generous standard equipment level and the modularity of its 7 seats, Peaq positions itself as a direct alternative to premium electric SUVs such as the Kia EV9 or the Volvo EX90.
