Nissan brings the Kicks crossover to Europe, availability and price for Romania

Nissan Kicks comes to the European market and will be produced at the Sunderland plant with e-POWER technology

Nissan is expanding its electrified vehicle range in the European market with the introduction of the Kicks subcompact crossover. Positioned in the B-SUV segment, between the Juke and Qashqai, the Kicks meets the demand for versatile, spacious and efficient urban vehicles.

Now in its second generation, launched globally in 2024 after a first generation launched in 2016, the model has been a remarkable commercial success. In its first ten years of presence on international markets in North America, South America and Asia, Kicks has reached a volume of 1.8 million units sold in over 70 countries.

European production at the Sunderland plant

The European models will be assembled in the UK at Nissan's Sunderland plant, with a direct investment of £170 million to prepare and adapt the assembly lines.

The Nissan Kicks becomes the tenth model produced in this industrial complex and will be assembled alongside the Qashqai, Juke and Leaf, strengthening production capacity in the region.

e-POWER hybrid drive system

The European version of the model will benefit from the brand's e-POWER hybrid system.

The system operates according to the following technical principles:

    ● Electric drive: The wheels are directly driven by the electric motor, providing a prompt response to acceleration and a quiet ride.
    ● Gasoline generator: The internal combustion engine has no mechanical connection to the wheels; its role is exclusively to generate electricity and recharge the battery.
    ● Plug-in operation: The vehicle offers the driving experience of an electric model, being powered by the gas station.

Interior design and features

The second generation Kicks offers a robust image, with LED headlights, an imposing front grille and the possibility of a two-tone body.

Inside, the model offers a digitalized cabin with screens for displaying information and the multimedia system, generous ground clearance and a trunk volume superior to the Juke model, being adapted for daily use and long trips.

Availability and estimated price for the Romanian market

The model is to be introduced on the European market and in Romania after the completion of the preparation stages of the UK plant.
