The domestic market for 100% electric vehicles is recording a remarkable performance. During September, the MG4 became the most registered zero-emission model in Romania, achieving a market share of 16.11% and managing to record a sales volume almost double that of the second-ranked model.
The commercial success is supported by the huge popularity of the MG4 Urban version, which has already exceeded 1,700 orders in just three months since its market debut. With a promotional starting price of €19,990 (including VAT) for the base version equipped with the 43 kWh battery, the model redefines affordability in the compact electric segment.
On the outside, the MG4 adopts a muscular and futuristic hatchback silhouette, designed to attract attention and optimize energy efficiency.
● Front: Sharp lines dominate, with a sporty bumper and advanced LED headlights that create a distinctive light signature.
● Profile and rear: Characterful side lines converge towards a sweeping roofline and a rear end accentuated by a double spoiler and interlocking geometric taillights. The balanced ground clearance and well-defined wheel arches underline the car's dynamic stance.
The MG4's cabin surprises with the generous volume offered to the occupants, managing to combine digital minimalism with excellent practical ergonomics.
● Space and luggage compartment: The interior provides a comfortable habitat for all passengers, with the luggage compartment offering a versatile capacity that can reach up to 1,364 liters by folding the rear seat.
● Thermal comfort: Equipment such as heated front seats and a heated steering wheel increase comfort in the cold season, while the driver's seat benefits from multi-way electric adjustment on higher versions.
The onboard experience is built around modern technological solutions, designed to be easily used on any journey.
● Main screens: The driving position integrates a 7-inch digital instrument panel for the driver and a 12.8-inch HD central touchscreen for the multimedia system.
● Ergonomics and amenities: The presence of physical buttons for climate control ensures safe operation while driving. Also, the equipped versions correspond to a wireless charging area for smartphones and panoramic video cameras with a 360-degree view, facilitating maneuvers in narrow urban spaces.
In terms of passive and active safety, the MG4 achieved the maximum 5 stars in the Euro NCAP benchmark tests.
The model comes equipped with a comprehensive suite of driver assistance systems, called MG Pilot. This includes lane keeping assist, automatic emergency braking and quick ADAS settings customization functions, providing a high level of protection and relaxation behind the wheel.
The MG4 Urban range is flexibly structured according to user requirements, relying on the reliability of batteries with LFP (lithium-iron-phosphate) chemistry:
● Battery and power options: Customers can choose between 43 kWh and 53 kWh battery packs, with the electric motors developing 149 hp and 160 hp respectively, delivered to the rear axle.
● Range: The maximum range in the WLTP combined cycle is up to 416 kilometers (and can exceed 600 kilometers in urban mode only).
● Fast charging: The system supports direct current (DC) fast charging of up to 87 kW, allowing the battery level to be restored from 10% to 80% in approximately 28 minutes. In addition, a heat pump is included to protect the range in the cold season.
