Bucharest is becoming the epicenter of automotive excellence and cultural avant-garde. Mercedes-Benz has officially inaugurated Mercedes-Benz Studio Bucharest, a unique exhibition concept that harmoniously combines the fascinating history of the German manufacturer with contemporary art.
The event, which celebrates almost 140 years of innovation, is hosted by the Museum of Recent Art (MARe), located on 15 Primăverii Boulevard, and will remain open to the public until July 12.
Held on levels 0 and 3 of the museum, Mercedes-Benz Studio Bucharest proposes an unconventional dialogue between automotive aesthetics and museum space. The choice of location is not accidental: vehicle design in Stuttgart has always been considered a form of industrial art, and MARe provides the perfect backdrop to highlight classic lines and futuristic technologies.
Visitors will have the rare opportunity to see the evolution of mobility under one roof. The exhibition's centerpiece is undoubtedly the Benz Patent Motorwagen – the vehicle patented by Carl Benz in 1885, recognized worldwide as the world's first modern automobile.
In addition to this historical gem, the exhibition spotlights:
