The new Mercedes-Benz GLA 2027 is available in Romania - prices, electric options and autonomy

The German manufacturer from Stuttgart has officially opened orders on the Romanian market for the new generation of the Mercedes-Benz GLA compact SUV. Presented for the first time at the end of July, the new model marks an important change in strategy: it debuts exclusively in 100% electric versions, with hybrid thermal propulsion options joining the range next year.

For starters, customers in Romania have three electric versions available, and the starting price is 49,120 euros, VAT included.

Engine range: Up to 354 HP and 656 km of range

The new Mercedes-Benz GLA is developed on the new MMA (Mercedes-Modular Architecture) modular architecture with an 800 Volt system, bringing increased efficiency performance and ultra-fast charging speeds.

The electric range available at launch includes three versions:
   ● GLA 200 electric: It offers 224 hp through a motor located on the rear axle, is equipped with a 58 kWh battery and promises a range of up to 446 kilometers (WLTP). Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in 8.1 seconds. The starting price is 49,120 euros including VAT.
   ● GLA 250+ electric: It has 272 hp and a larger 85 kWh battery, which allows a record range in the segment, up to 656 kilometers. The price of this version starts from 54,440 euros including VAT.
   ● GLA 350 4Matic electric: It is the most powerful option, with two electric motors developing a total of 354 hp and all-wheel drive. It uses the same 85 kWh battery and offers a range of up to 642 kilometers. The list price is 59,280 euros including VAT.

Starting next year, the range will be complemented by versions with 1.5-liter gasoline engines, equipped with a 48V mild-hybrid system.

Technological innovations, design and generous standard equipment

The new generation GLA adopts a modernized design line, focused on aerodynamic efficiency. On the outside, the new front grille with illuminated contour and the High Performance LED headlights offered from the basic version stand out.

Among the major new features in terms of equipment are the presence of additional storage space under the front hood (frunk) and the inclusion of a heat pump as standard, a crucial element for optimizing autonomy in winter conditions.

Standard equipment includes:
   ● Heat pump and front storage space (frunk);
   ● Front grille with illuminated contour;
   ● 18-inch alloy wheels;
   ● 12.3-inch central multimedia display and 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster;
   ● Panoramic glass roof;
   ● Heated front comfort seats;
   ● Leather-wrapped sports steering wheel and eco-leather upholstery;
   ● The new-generation MB.OS (Mercedes-Benz Operating System) multimedia system.

How It Compares to Key Competitors?

On the Romanian market, the new electric Mercedes-Benz GLA enters into direct rivalry with models such as the BMW iX1 and Audi Q4 e-tron:
