Stuttgart is no longer looking in the rearview mirror. In an unprecedented strategic move, Mercedes-Benz has confirmed an ultra-aggressive launch calendar: 7 world premieres in the next 90 days and a total of 30 new or updated models by the end of 2027.
While the global auto industry oscillates between caution and forced transition, Mercedes-Benz has chosen the path of "total offensive". The German manufacturer officially announced that 2026 will be marked by the launch of 16 new models, followed by an almost equal contingent in 2027. The message is clear: the brand wants to dominate the luxury segments, regardless of the propulsion chosen by the customer.
The first leg of this marathon begins right now. Over the next three months, fans of the brand will witness seven major launches. Among the stars who will take to the runway are:
Mercedes-Maybach S-Class (Facelift): Scheduled for March, this symbol of opulence will receive a technological upgrade designed to keep it at the top of the limousine pyramid.
The New G-Class Cabriolet: After a break of almost a decade (since 2017), the iconic off-roader returns with a retractable roof, news that has already got collectors excited.
Mercedes-Benz GLS (Facelift): The "S-Class of SUVs" is undergoing an aesthetic and digital refresh.
AMG models: The performance division will present new variants, including the long-awaited AMG GT 4-Door, designed to demonstrate that excitement does not die with the new Euro 7 regulations.
A major change in philosophy is evident in the aesthetics of future models. Mercedes seems to be gradually abandoning the "teardrop" design language specific to the EQ range, opting for a more imposing and unified look between the thermal and electric variants.
“We want to excite our customers with uncompromising cars that become an intelligent part of their lives,” said Ola Källenius, the group’s CEO.
The centerpiece of this transformation is MB.OS (Mercedes-Benz Operating System), the new digital brain of the cars, which will integrate artificial intelligence to an unprecedented level in the cockpits of the future C-Class, GLC and EQS models.
While electrification remains a central pillar, Mercedes-Benz is lending a helping hand to nostalgics and non-EU markets. The confirmation of a new V8 engine, compatible with Euro 7 regulations for 2027, demonstrates that the brand is not ready to completely abandon the sound and power of classic high-capacity powertrains.

Mercedes-Benz isn't just launching cars, it's trying to redefine the standard of luxury in an age of software. With 16 models ready to go, the only question that remains is: can customer garages keep up with Stuttgart's pace?
In the Romanian market, Mercedes-Benz is not just a car brand, but a well-established status symbol. In 2025, Romanians confirmed once again that they prefer SUVs and hybrid engines, with the German brand dominating the luxury segments with a solid market share:
Mercedes-Benz GLC: It remains the undisputed "king" of sales in Romania. It is the ideal compact SUV for families who want luxury but also versatility on local roads.
Mercedes-Benz GLE: The favorite choice for the upper premium segment. Romanians appreciate it for its imposing presence and long-distance comfort.
G-Class: Although it has a prohibitive price, the model recorded a record of popularity in 2025, being considered a safe investment and a symbol of success in the business environment.
C-Class and E-Class: Even though SUVs lead the way, classic limousines remain the top choice for luxury corporate fleets and traditional customers.
Prices can vary significantly depending on features and engine, but here are the entry thresholds for the most sought-after models:
| Model | Segment | Starting Price (Approx.) |
| A-Class | Compact | ~€36,000 |
| C-Class | Premium Sedan | ~€57,000 |
| GLC | Luxury Compact SUV | ~€65,000 – €70,000 |
| GLE | Full-size Luxury SUV | ~€85,000 |
| S-Class | Luxury Flagship Sedan | ~€125,000 |
| EQA (Electric) | Electric Compact SUV | ~€53,000 |
Mild-Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid: This is the “sweet spot” in Romania. Sales of Mercedes models with mild-hybrid technology have increased by over 12% in the last year, offering a mix of performance and lower taxes.
AMG Line packages: Almost every Mercedes sold in retail in Romania includes the AMG aesthetic package, Romanians placing great value on the sporty and aggressive appearance of the car.
MBUX technology: Large screens and voice-controlled infotainment are essential purchasing criteria for our young audience.
Mercedes-Benz thus remains the aspirational leader of the Romanian automotive market, managing to sell thousands of units annually from a portfolio that starts where other volume brands stop.
