Maranello enters the electric era: First details and images of the Ferrari Luce interior

Ferrari officially reveals the interior of "Luce", its first electric model in history

After years of speculation and camouflage worn on test tracks, the "Praise Horse" has decided to shine a light. Ferrari has officially presented the first images of the interior of its first fully electric model, confirming at the same time the name that will go down in history: Ferrari Luce.

The name is not chosen by chance. Luce (light in Italian) symbolizes not only a new era of propulsion, but also a design philosophy based on clarity and advanced technology. If fans feared that the brand's visceral spirit would be swallowed up by sterile screens, the cabin of the new Luce comes to reassure them with an unexpected approach.

An interior designed by Jony Ive: Where Apple meets Formula 1

The biggest surprise of the new Ferrari Luce comes from its collaboration with LoveFrom, the creative collective founded by the famous designer Sir Jony Ive (the man behind the design of the iPhone). The result is a cabin that refuses the "dictatorship of the touchscreen", relying on an extremely refined tactile experience.

  • "Retro-Futuristic" Steering Wheel: Inspired by the legendary Nardi steering wheels of the 1950s and 1960s, the new steering wheel features three thin spokes made from 100% recycled aluminum. It is 400 grams lighter than the current ones and integrates two physical control modules, strategically placed like those on F1 cars.
  • Dynamic Display: Luce features three digital screens, but the centerpiece is the instrument cluster (binnacle) that moves in unison with the steering column. This means that essential information always remains perfectly visible, regardless of the steering wheel position.
  • Pivoting Console: The center screen is mounted on a "ball" joint, allowing it to be oriented either towards the driver, for maximum concentration, or towards the passenger.
  • High-Tech Materials: Ferrari has ditched plastic in favor of scratch-resistant Corning Fusion5 glass and CNC-milled aluminum. Even the car key is a work of art: a glass object with an E-Ink display that fits into a magnetized dock.

Price and Availability

The exclusivity comes, as expected, with a price tag to match. The Ferrari Luce is positioned at the top of the range, with an estimated starting price of around 500,000 euros. This amount does not include customizations through the Tailor Made program, which can raise the final price by another 20-30%.

Luce will be assembled in the new "E-building" factory in Maranello. Although the interior and name have already been revealed, the grand official launch of the exterior will take place in May 2026, with first deliveries to be made towards the end of the year.

Conclusion

The Ferrari Luce isn't just an electric car; it's a risky, but highly calculated, bet. By combining traditional Italian craftsmanship with Jony Ive's minimalist vision, Ferrari is proving that the electric future doesn't have to be generic. The "light" from Maranello seems to shine brightly enough to blind critics, at least until the first press of the accelerator pedal.
