Bucharest, March 31, 2026 – In an increasingly polarized automotive market between pure electrics and classic hybrids, the Chinese manufacturer Leapmotor, supported by the giant Stellantis, is making a strategic move in Romania. The new Leapmotor B10 Hybrid EV officially arrives in showrooms, proposing an extremely attractive “middle ground” solution: an electric SUV that never depends on a power outlet to finish a long journey.
The centerpiece of the new B10 version is its EREV (Extended Range Electric Vehicle) powertrain. Unlike traditional hybrids, where the internal combustion engine can turn the wheels, the B10's 1.5-liter gasoline unit has only one job: to be a portable generator.
It has no mechanical connection to the drive axle, but charges the 18.8 kWh battery while the car is moving. The result? An impressive combined range of 900 kilometers, of which 86 kilometers can be driven purely on electricity – enough for the daily commute without burning a drop of fuel.
The interior of the new SUV is dominated by a massive 14.6-inch central screen with 2.5K resolution. The LEAP OS 4.0 Plus operating system promises a fluid experience, similar to that of a high-end smartphone.
For those who appreciate high-fidelity sound, the car comes equipped with a 12-speaker audio system, offering an immersive experience rarely found in this price segment.
