Kia Romauto launches EcoGas+ program, LPG systems for Sportage, K4 and XCeed with intact warranty

Kia introduces LPG systems for Sportage, K4 and XCeed: Intact warranty and reduced costs through the EcoGas+ program

Kia Romauto, the official importer of the South Korean brand in Romania, is taking a strategic step on the local market by launching the Kia EcoGas+ project. During the "Smart Fuel Experience" event, the company announced the introduction of LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) fuel systems for three of the most popular models in the range: the Sportage SUV, the XCeed crossover and the new K4 sedan.

The new option comes as a direct response to the need to streamline operating costs, addressing both private customers and commercial fleets that travel long distances.

Local partnership and full warranty

Unlike solutions integrated directly on the production line, these LPG systems are not factory-fitted. The equipment is installed at the express request of the customer, in an aftermarket manner, through an official partnership with the specialists at Rocar Sion.

The main focus of this project is after-sales safety. The modification of the fuel system does not affect in any way the famous factory warranty offered by the Asian manufacturer. Moreover, the dedicated LPG installation benefits from a separate 3-year warranty, within the limit of 100,000 kilometers, ensuring users a risk-free transition to an alternative fuel.

Fixed installation costs

For any of the three compatible models — Sportage, K4 and XCeed — the cost of purchasing and installing the LPG system is fixed, amounting to 2,400 euros. The investment is aimed at those who want to quickly reduce their monthly fuel expenses, transforming their car into an extremely cost-effective mobility tool.

Long-term efficiency: Cost per kilometer and record range

Beyond the initial installation price, the main arguments of the EcoGas+ program are found in the daily operating figures. The switch to mixed fuel (gasoline + LPG) brings major advantages in terms of costs and completely eliminates the so-called "range anxiety".

  •      Unbeatable cost per kilometer: Depending on the model chosen and driving style, the real cost per kilometer driven on gas is between 0.23 and 0.27 RON. This value places the three Kia models in the cost range specific to small city cars or even electric vehicles powered by public commercial stations.
  •      Range of over 1,200 km: By keeping the original petrol tank intact and adding the toroidal LPG tank, the total energy storage capacity increases significantly. All three models — Sportage, K4 and XCeed — manage to exceed a total range of 1,200 kilometres with both tanks full. This makes them ideal vehicles for long journeys without frequent refuelling stops.

"Through Kia models equipped with LPG systems, we offer a smart alternative for families and companies, a solution that contributes both to optimizing the usage budget and reducing the environmental impact. The Kia EcoGas+ project reflects our commitment to responding to the challenges of modern mobility through concrete solutions," said Dan Chitaru, President and CEO of Kia Romania.

Through this move, Kia Romauto is diversifying its engine mix at a time when users are looking for financial predictability, positioning LPG as an affordable, clean and extremely economical bridge in the current automotive landscape.
