Ford Ranger 2026: expanded equipment and standard BlueCruise autonomous system

Ford Ranger Expands and Goes Digital: New Features and the BlueCruise System Arrive in Romania

The Ford Ranger, the undisputed leader in the pickup segment in Europe, including on the Romanian market, receives a substantial update that places it at the top of its class, both in terms of luxury and technology. The American manufacturer introduces two superior equipment lines – Limited and Platinum – and brings for the first time the BlueCruise autonomous driving system as standard on the top version.

These new products are ready to meet the demand in Romania, where the Ford Ranger is appreciated both as a robust work vehicle and as a premium means of transportation for an active lifestyle.

Expanding Ambition: New Platinum and Limited Teams

The Ford Ranger range is expanding, going from three to five equipment lines (alongside XLT, Wildtrak and MS-RT), offering Romanian customers more refined options.

Ranger Platinum: Uncompromising Luxury (The New Top of the Range)

The new Platinum trim is designed to attract customers who want a pickup truck with premium SUV features.

  •     Distinctive Design: On the outside, it stands out with its play of dark and chrome accents. The grille receives elements in Ebony Gloss Black combined with chrome details on the bumper. The "Platinum" inscriptions on the hood and the bed confirm the status. The equipment runs on 18-inch wheels with a new design, and the new color Acacia Green pearl metallic will also be available for the local market.
  •     Classy Interior: The cabin is defined by luxury, with Ebony leather seats with a new stitching arrangement, being electrically adjustable in 10 ways, heated and ventilated – an extremely useful feature for the temperature variations in Romania. Dark Chrome details and Urban Grey stitching complete the premium atmosphere.
  •     Standard Technology: Standard features include LED Matrix headlights (a major first for increased visibility on extra-urban roads), 360-degree area lighting and Pro Trailer Backup Assist – an essential aid for trailer maneuvering (popular with off-road and recreational enthusiasts).

Ranger Limited: The Perfect Balance

The Limited trim is positioned to offer the optimal balance between Ranger-specific ruggedness and a high level of comfort and technology, making it an attractive option for companies looking for a superior fleet or for individual users.
Technological Pioneer: BlueCruise – Hands-Off Autonomous Driving

The most important technical innovation is the integration of the Ford BlueCruise system, which transforms the Ranger into the first pick-up in Europe to offer Level 2 autonomous driving.

  •     Availability: BlueCruise is included as standard on Platinum trim and optional on Wildtrak.
  •     Operation on Romanian Roads: The system allows drivers to drive hands-free on pre-approved motorway sections ("Blue Zones"). As the Romanian motorway network expands, the BlueCruise functionality will become increasingly relevant, transforming long journeys on the A1, A2 or A3 into much more relaxing experiences.
  •     "Eyes-On" safety: While allowing the vehicle to take control, the system constantly monitors the driver via a camera, ensuring that they keep their eyes on the road and are ready to intervene.

Standard Digitization and Enhanced Utility

All Ford Ranger versions now receive the digitalization package as standard equipment, thus meeting the requirements of the modern automotive market in Romania:

  •     Standard Displays: A 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12-inch central display for the SYNC 4A infotainment system with navigation, offering a modern and easy-to-use interface.
  •     Towing Security: The new Trailer Theft Alert system notifies the driver via the Ford app when the trailer is unauthorizedly disconnected – a security benefit appreciated by owners who use their Ranger to transport boats, campers or equipment.
  •     Dynamic Colour: The metallic Ignite Orange shade, introduced for the Wildtrak version, will offer a bold personalisation option, suitable for those who want to stand out.

Availability on the Local Market

The new updated Ford Ranger is available for order, and Ford dealers in Romania will begin taking orders for the new Platinum and Limited trims. However, due to the complexity of production and high demand at the European level, deliveries of the first units to Romanian customers are scheduled to begin only in May 2026.

With this update, the Ford Ranger not only adapts, but also sets new standards, offering a pickup that feels at home on construction sites in the country, but also on the elegant boulevards of big cities.
