In today's automotive world, dominated by heavy electric vehicles and assistance systems that "filter" the driving experience, Dutch manufacturer Donkervoort has decided to go in the opposite direction. The result? The new Donkervoort P24 RS, the most powerful and advanced production model in the brand's history, a car that transforms driving into a visceral, pure and incredibly fast experience.
Founded in 1978 by Joop Donkervoort, the Dutch brand has built its reputation on a philosophy of “No Compromise.” Their origins are linked to the Lotus Seven concept, but over the decades, Donkervoort has evolved from replicas to ultra-high-tech, hand-built supercars.
It is a family business in the purest sense: the current director, Denis Donkervoort, continues his father’s tradition, maintaining production at an exclusive level. The names of the models reflect this personal connection — the new P24 RS is named after Denis’ daughter Phébe, born in 2026, continuing the tradition started with the S8 (after Joop’s daughter, Amber) or the F22 (after Denis’ first daughter, Filippa).
The most impressive figure of the new P24 RS is not just its power, but its power-to-weight ratio. The car weighs just 780 kg (unladen), thanks to the extensive use of Ex-Core technology (patented high-density carbon).
Under the long hood is a new engine, a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6, capable of delivering:
Maximum power: 600 hp (441 kW).
Torque: 800 Nm.
Performance: 0-200 km/h in just 7.4 seconds and a top speed exceeding 300 km/h.
A major innovation is the Power To Choose (PTC) system, which allows the driver to select between three power levels: 400, 500 or 600 HP, adapting the car for both public roads and the circuit.
Donkervoort collaborated with Formula 1 suppliers to equip the P24 RS with custom turbochargers and 3D printed coolers (Conflux), which almost completely eliminate the phenomenon of "turbo lag".
However, despite the advanced technology, the P24 RS remains a car for purists:
No power steering as standard (only available as an option).
No ABS or standard stability control (driver has full control).
5-speed manual gearbox, 15 kg lighter than modern alternatives, equipped with rev-matching technology.
Aesthetically, the P24 RS retains the iconic silhouette with its long nose and exposed front wheels, but introduces revolutionary elements such as the “swing-out” headlights. These are hidden in the grille to optimize aerodynamics and only protrude when necessary. The car is capable of generating 2.3G of lateral force when cornering, a figure that would test the physique of any enthusiast.
The Donkervoort P24 RS is not just a car, but a manifesto against unnecessary complexity.
