The Mioveni-based car manufacturer is strengthening its management team ahead of a new phase of expansion. Starting September 1, John Cleworth will take over the position of Vice President of Strategy, Products and Business at Dacia, replacing Sandra Gomez.
John Cleworth is no stranger to the French car giant. With a career spanning over 20 years within the Renault Group, Cleworth has gained extensive experience in areas fundamental to the automotive industry: product management, marketing, sales and revenue management.
In 2025, Cleworth took on the position of Vice President of Revenue Management and Launch Operations for the Renault brand. In this position, he was directly responsible for the architecture of pricing strategies and the commercial management of the French brand's new model launches.
The transition to the new role comes at a crucial moment for Dacia, as the brand expands its range and attacks new market segments, while maintaining its DNA based on accessibility and efficiency.
John Cleworth's experience will bring several major strategic advantages to the Mioveni builder:
The change at the top management level was received with a firm message of support from the brand's leadership.
“I am delighted to welcome John Cleworth to the Dacia leadership team. Throughout his career, John has consistently demonstrated a remarkable ability to combine strategic vision, business performance and a deep understanding of our customers’ expectations. His recognized expertise in product, commercial operations and product potential will be an important asset in supporting Dacia’s ambitions and the sustainable development of the brand.” — Katrin Adt, CEO Dacia
Upon taking office this fall, John Cleworth will have the mission of continuing the impressive growth path of the Dacia brand on the international market, transforming the current challenges of the automotive industry into business opportunities.
