The British luxury carmaker is marking a pivotal moment in its more than century-old history. With the official unveiling of the new Torcal, the brand’s first 100% electric production model, the company is officially entering the era of electric mobility. The new performance SUV becomes the fourth distinct model line in the current range and brings a dedicated technical platform, along with a redefined aesthetic language and a series of technological firsts.
Bentley Torcal introduces an aesthetic philosophy focused on minimalist lines, while maintaining the imposing proportions characteristic of the brand. The front is dominated by a huge illuminated grille, decorated with a complex diamond pattern, and an accentuated vertical profile. The LED optical blocks are structured on two distinct levels, separating the daytime running lights from the main headlights.
The rear profile takes a clean approach, marked by slim LED taillights with functional air intakes integrated beneath. A dynamic roof spoiler extends the vehicle's aerodynamic silhouette, giving it a sportier and more fluid feel.
At launch, the electric SUV is available in two distinct interpretations: the standard Torcal version and the dynamic performance-focused Torcal S variant.
The base model is equipped with 21-inch alloy wheels as standard, while the Torcal S variant comes from the factory with 22-inch wheels and adds a series of specific visual elements:
• Black exterior accents and darker taillights;
• Reshaped aerodynamic diffuser in the rear bumper and massive sills;
• Revised styling elements for the front bumper and brake calipers finished in red.
The interior of the new Bentley Torcal prioritizes advanced digitalization without compromising the traditional craftsmanship of noble materials. The centerpiece of the dashboard is a configurable digital instrument cluster and a curved central screen with OLED technology, complemented below by a physical rotary button dedicated to quick access to essential controls.
The interior equipment brings major innovations in terms of comfort:
• Front seats: 16-way power adjustable, with heating, ventilation and integrated massage as standard.
• Top optional packages: Advanced Postural Adjust, Smart Seat Climate and the ultra-comfortable Wellness Seat specification.
• Absolute premiere: Power-folding rear bench seat, a feature present for the first time on a model in the brand's portfolio.
• Loading capacity: A 460-litre rear boot, supplemented by a 90-litre frunk storage space.
The interior ambience can be adapted via four customizable driving modes (Experience Modes) – Bentley Mode, Comfort Mode, Sport Mode and Refresh Mode – as well as the panoramic glass roof with electrochromic transparency adjustment.
Under the hood, the Bentley Torcal uses an advanced 800-volt electrical architecture, powered by a 113 kWh battery pack. Both versions benefit from a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive configuration.
• Torcal (standard version): Develops 821 HP and a torque of 1,194 Nm. Accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and reaches a top speed of 250 km/h.
• Torcal S (performance version): Delivers 888 HP and a torque of 1,350 Nm. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in just 2.9 seconds, and the top speed reaches 260 km/h.
The approved range reaches up to 600 kilometers on a single charge. Thanks to the 800V system, the battery supports fast charging powers in direct current of up to 400 kW, allowing power from 10% to 80% in less than 20 minutes. The manufacturer offers a dedicated battery warranty of 10 years or 160,000 kilometers.
To provide impeccable road holding, the new electric SUV receives active suspension and all-wheel steering (rear-axle steering for increased maneuverability) as standard.
Security and driving assistance are managed by a complex network of 25 radars, sensors and cameras. The doors benefit from an automatic opening and closing system operated by 4 radars dedicated to collision prevention. In addition, to maintain the emotional connection with the brand's history, the vehicle is equipped with an acoustic system that simulates the characteristic sound of the legendary 6.75-liter V8 engine.
Handcrafted in the UK. The new Bentley Torcal will be hand-assembled at the brand’s historic factory in Crewe, UK. Production of the electric model will take place in a modernised facility at the UK site, following a massive investment in electrification and sustainability. The first production examples are scheduled to roll off the assembly line in early 2027.
Price estimates for the Romanian market
Although official prices for Romania have not yet been announced, the benchmarks announced for European markets (where the entry-level version starts at approximately 173,000 pounds sterling in the British market) provide a clear framework for estimates:
• Bentley Torcal (standard version, 821 hp): The estimated starting price for the Romanian market will be around 220,000 – 240,000 EUR (including 19% VAT), positioning itself competitively in the brand’s range.
• Bentley Torcal S (performance version, 888 hp): The top variant is estimated to start at 260,000 – 280,000 EUR before the addition of optional packages.
• Mulliner Personalization: As with every Crewe model, extensive customization options from the Mulliner division (such as 100% Merino wool upholstery or special Ombré Walnut wood inserts) can raise the final value of the vehicle above the 320,000 EUR threshold.
Delivery and order calendar
• Opening of order lists: The official network (Bentley Bucharest) is expected to open configurators and take firm orders towards the end of 2026 or early 2027.
• First deliveries on the local market: The first examples intended for customers in Romania are estimated to arrive in showrooms and be delivered during the first half of 2027.
The new British SUV enters a narrow but extremely competitive niche, where the battle is between raw performance, state-of-the-art electrical architectures and the traditional craftsmanship of luxury finishes.
