A new era at Crewe – Bentley’s first all-electric SUV. The British luxury carmaker is taking a decisive step towards full electrification with the launch of its first zero-emission production model: the Bentley Torcal. The name of the new high-performance SUV is inspired by the spectacular El Torcal de Antequera karst formations in Andalusia, Spain.
The Torcal joins the British brand’s portfolio as its fourth distinct model line and represents a milestone in the Crewe-based manufacturer’s strategy. While the brand has reassessed its timetable for the move to all-electric vehicles, the Torcal will remain the brand’s main 100% battery electric (BEV) pillar until the end of the decade, operating alongside its V8 hybrid ranges.
The stakes are high: the Bentley Torcal is set to be the most powerful and fastest production model ever built by the British brand. Although the detailed specifications of the powertrain are still confidential, the first technical data obtained from the testing and prototype phase indicate impressive figures:
● Maximum power: Over 850 hp (over 838 bhp / 625 kW) obtained from a configuration with two electric motors and all-wheel drive.
● Acceleration: Sprint from 0 to 100 km/h achieved in less than 3.0 seconds, surpassing all historical models equipped with W12 or V8 combustion engines.
● Autonomy: Up to 600 km (373 miles) in the WLTP test cycle.
● Fast charging: High-voltage architecture capable of absorbing charging powers of up to 400 kW, allowing the battery to be charged from 10% to 80% in just 15 minutes.
The SUV's exterior lines combine classic Bentley DNA — pronounced rear shoulders and a reworked, imposing grille — with advanced aerodynamic principles necessary to maximize range.
The latest official teaser images published by the company highlight an unexpected and extremely bold color choice: the car is painted in a strident shade of yellow-green (neon), meant to emphasize the rebellious and electrifying character of the new model.
Inside, Torcal will introduce Bentley Curation Engine technology, an intelligent ambience management system that adapts sound, lighting, climate control and suspension settings according to the driver's desired mood.
The official launch and full undisguised reveal of the Bentley Torcal will take place on September 23 at a major event in London. Until then, the manufacturer will continue to gradually release details about the technological innovations and sustainability solutions applied to the interior.
The Romanian luxury car market will have access to the new model through the official importer and authorized dealer Bentley Bucharest (Porsche Inter Auto Romania).
● Order and delivery schedule: The opening of the pre-order list for customers in Romania is expected for the end of 2026 or the first quarter of 2027. The first physical deliveries of the electric SUV are scheduled to begin in the first half of 2027.
● Estimated price: In relation to its positioning in the brand's range (above the Bentayga model) and the expected international prices, the starting price for the Bentley Torcal on the Romanian market will be approximately 250,000 - 280,000 euros (VAT included) for the basic version.
● Personalization: As with any luxury car in this segment, Mulliner customization options (fossilized wood finishes, high-quality eco-leather or special custom paints) can easily raise the final price above the threshold of 320,000 - 350,000 euros.
